Casa Vinicola Luca is a new name in the Moldovan wine-making scene, created, however, by people who are well known among wine connoisseurs. Ion Luca, the man behind the successful brand Carpe Diem, has been dreaming about a family wine estate, which would also become a good destination for wine tourism. After years of hard work, his dream has started to become reality, and our studio was tasked to create corporate identity and product packaging design for the new brand. The first wine under the new moniker was the first in Moldova sparkling Natur Brut, the label for which centers around calligraphy.
Natur Brut by Casa Vinicola Luca was created from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Feteasca Regala. Just listing all these technical details would make the overall composition rather saturated with graphic elements. So we’ve decided to go the opposite way, and made the front label design very laconic, ascetic even, focusing the attention on the producer’s name. Special post-printing techniques were employed, which created a credible illusion of writing with paint on paper by hand. All the technical details were placed on the back label, allowing the front label to be less loaded with elements and more effective. Meanwhile the overall style of the concept looks quite different from what a traditional sparkling wine looks like, which draws even more attention to the new product.
