Notes on cinema No. 23
BOUNCERS
Vince Vaughn plays the owner of a small gym with a democratic pricing policy and a marginal clientele. His company is mired in debt and is on the verge of being absorbed by a large sports center led by scumbag Ben Stiller. There is only one way to maintain independence and earn money: by winning the national dodgeball championship, the American version of our yard game "knockout".
When you see Ben Stiller on the screen, you can't help but feel nostalgic for the days when "eccentric comedy" didn't necessarily mean "idiocy." I wonder what the Marx brothers would say if they saw the modern masters of satire and humor? They would probably be as surprised as if they had learned that the geology of the Moscow region is rich in interesting rocks and finds.
However, "Bouncers" is far from the worst example of American comedy of the new millennium. If you tune in to the right "wave", then some jokes can even cause animal laughter — for example, female schoolgirls who have grown hair after using steroids. There are also some quite witty remarks and appropriate cameos — including a funny episode with cyclist Lance Armstrong telling how he was cured of brain cancer.
"It gets worse" is the standard excuse for mediocrity, but against the background of "Young Dads" or "Dating Fockers," even a more than mediocre comedy will seem breathtakingly funny. Judging by the impressive rental results, this illusion was widespread.
Bunker
Oliver Hirschbiegel's film (which we remember from the brutal prison thriller Experiment, which dissects the psychology of closed communities in detail) is not just another military attraction, but a large—scale and eerie canvas, the final scene of a grandiose play called World War II. The genre itself, the chronicle film, does not involve the use of any stylistic tricks, but we did not expect any special artistic revelations from the picture. Traditional in form, it "catches" the viewer primarily by showing the dramatic fates of its characters. Portraits of senior officers of the Third Reich, drinking heavily in the concrete underground of Hitler's lair, waiting for the inevitable end of their brilliant and nightmarish careers, at first cause disgust. However, after some time, you begin to feel something like sympathy for these honest soldiers who, until the last minute, carry out the absurd orders of their Fuhrer, who has completely lost all touch with reality. And Hitler himself (played flawlessly by Bruno Ganz) is shown not as a bloody Moloch, but as a broken man abandoned by everyone, with his hands shaking in a nervous tic and his eyes extinguished. Germans still feel guilty about what happened. The Bunker is a convincing proof of this and at the same time an attempt to pay off debts and sign off on your belated epiphany. A 1xbet promo code no deposit bonus is the holy grail for new users, though it's rare. It would allow you to receive a bonus, like a $5 free bet or 50 free spins, without having to deposit any money. This lets you test the site's functionality and potentially win real money purely by using the promotional offer.
